Meeting called to order at 7:30pm by Diane Actman.
Printed copies of last month’s minutes were not available so Diane read
her copy of the minutes. The minutes were approved.
Mark Taylor and Bruce Reed were not able to attend since there was a LM Township
meeting that night to discuss the Ardmore Redevelopment proposals. There was
no elected officials report.
Treasurer’s Report (Steve Gross)
- Minimal checking account activity for the month. Total balance in checking,
savings and CDs was $11,650. Steve requested moving the CDs when they mature
to another bank that is more convenient to him at about the same interest rate.
Motion approved.
Parks Report (Diane Actman)
Diane reported that the old chain link fence on the Maplewood edge of the park
separating it from the homes is being replaced. Diane will check with Lindsey
Taylor about the timing for completing the resurfacing of the tennis courts.
Comprehensive Plan Meetings
- Zach and Lou presented MPCA’s Comprehensive Plan recommendations at
the Dec. 17th LM Township’s Planning Meeting. The recommendations were
well received. Copies of our testimony are available (we may want to post it
on our website).
President’s Report (Diane Actman):
- Diane asked for suggestions about changing February’s meeting date since
it falls on February 14th , Valentine’s Day. It was decided to move it
up one week to Feb. 7th. Diane will notify the LM Historical Society about the
change in date.
- Diane also asked for volunteers for the nominating committee for new officers.
Lisa, Alane and Zach volunteered and Marc was drafted.
- Diane requested that we give her names of any new neighbors.
- Diane has been contacted by Community Access TV Channel 99 for us to provide
a recorded message about Merion Park to be shown on TV.
- Dues notices will be sent out at our next meeting.
Annual Meeting – The April meeting will be our annual meeting for the election of new officers. We also will try to get a speaker and invite the community. Diane DiBonaventura, the new School Bd. President was suggested as a possible speaker. Also we have money in our Treasury so we could consider providing catered food.
Finally there was a discussion about limiting the use of our email list for only civic association business and other information that is important for the community to know, i.e., carjacking alerts.
Meeting Adjourned.
Respectfully submitted, Zachary Weiss
